About Time Units
Time is the continued sequence of existence and events. Different fields use vastly different units to measure time duration, from computing processing speeds to astronomical events.
Micro-Time (ns, μs, ms)
Used primarily in computing, electronics, and physics. A nanosecond (ns) is one-billionth of a second. A microsecond (μs) is one-millionth, and a millisecond (ms) is one-thousandth. Human reaction times are typically measured in milliseconds.
Macro-Time (Months & Years)
In standard scientific conversions, a year is based on the Julian year (exactly 365.25 days or 31,557,600 seconds) to account for leap years. Consequently, a standard statistical month is defined as 1/12 of a Julian year, which equals exactly 30.4375 days.
