What is an Invisible Character?
Invisible characters, also known as blank text or hidden characters, are specific Unicode characters that are structurally valid in computer systems but do not render any visible glyph on the screen. Common examples include the Zero Width Space (U+200B), Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800), and Hangul Filler (U+3164).
These characters are incredibly popular for online tricks and formatting. For instance, most messaging apps (like WhatsApp, Discord, or iMessage) prevent you from sending a completely empty message using regular spacebars. By using an invisible character, the system registers valid text, allowing you to send a "ghost" message. They are also widely used by gamers to create blank usernames, or by content creators to force line breaks in social media bios.
