About Angle Units
An angle is the figure formed by two rays sharing a common endpoint. Different fields of science, engineering, and daily life use different units to measure angles.
⭕ Degree (°)
The most common unit of angular measure. A full circle is divided into 360 degrees. It is widely used in geography, navigation, and everyday geometry.
📐 Radian (rad)
The standard unit of angular measure used in mathematics and physics. A full circle corresponds to 2π radians. It mathematically links the radius of a circle to its arc length.
🏗️ Gradian (grad)
Also known as a gon. A full circle is divided into 400 gradians, making a right angle exactly 100 gradians. It is primarily used in civil engineering and land surveying.
🔭 Arcminute & Arcsecond
Subdivisions of a degree used for highly precise measurements, particularly in astronomy and optometry. One degree is divided into 60 arcminutes, and one arcminute is further divided into 60 arcseconds.
